I am a qualified and experienced Music teacher offering private tuition in piano, singing, saxophone, music theory and also GCSE/A Level Music. I teach all ages (from 6 years to 60 years currently) and all levels. I tailor my teaching style to suit the individual and while I encourage pupils to work for ABRSM exams, my main aim is to build a long lasting love of music. Some of my previous pupils have gone on to have successful music careers while others still play and sing for pleasure.

Cantilena is a small, friendly and versatile four-part chamber choir with a wide-ranging repertoire, from the works of classical and contemporary composers to folk songs, spirituals and popular songs from the 1920s and 30s. We perform four concerts each year in the East Devon area, primarily in support of local charities. Our objectives are to be a versatile and fun choir whilst working to improve our vocal skills, expand our musical knowledge and achieve a high standard of ensemble singing.

Mixed-voice choir formed in September 2008 by Sam Abrahams, a semi-pro jazz singer. The ethos of the choir is simple: if you like singing and enjoy having a laugh then this choir is for you. Some members just drop in to get their ‘fix’ or to blow away the cobwebs. Whether it’s weekly, monthly or just when you can, you are always welcome. The repertoire is generally modern with many of Sam’s own arrangements for the group. There are no auditions but there is a requirement for a sense of humour.
